Kitty is pretty much wonderful…

I love my Kitty. Cute, warm and cuddly, and perrrrfect in every way.

Geek Project: Bad-ass Batarang

I don’t normally  advocate throwing sharp objects at people.

It never really ends well. But, it’s a different story when a piece of pointy death is actually nerd craft that is made of safe mostly safe plexiglass. Last week i started on this after seeing a article on Instructables.com about making a Batarang similar to this one from the game Batman: Arkham Asylum.

This particular project of mine took about only ten to twelve hours total and was a complete success. It has the ability to snap into the open position with a flick of the wrist due to the placement of  strong earth magnets embeded within the plexiglass.

I have tried to photo document my work on it as much as possible, enjoy…

Now all I need is years of intense martial arts training; a college level education in criminology, chemistry, physics, electronics and engineering, a british butler, a costume and I am all set to prowl the night.

Fun With Public Transportation

Okay, so i’m writing this post from the bus terminal. I just thought that since I haven’t posted in a while and had some free time I might as well put it to some good use. But back to the topic at hand. My day started with waking up early. (well in my case early even with daylight saving time. I’m Still tried.) Then a half hour of trying to find matching socks. (Seriously, a hard thing to do in a family of my size. I have a amazing theory on what happens to them after you toss them in the drier, I’ll tell you all about it sometime.) Anyway, after Finally getting dropped of at the “Office”. (which was the main event of my day.) I quickly finished my work and proceeded to try to find a ride home. However luck was not with me. Both of the family cars were in use. I would be forced to walk the five miles home or I could wait for the city bus to come along.

TIME PASSES

Okay, so I found the right bus. It seems although I’ll be making two stops. One at the terminal and one at which I’ll need to walk a block to crossover to the next bus which will take me home. Easy right, I took maps. No sweat, I got this.

TIME PASSES

Ummm, a little draw back happened. Turns out I grabbed the wrong bus… It’s still cool though, cause the driver said he’d drop me of at the corner and i can get on one which crosses the path of the one I need.

TIME PASSES

ALRIGHT, I’m on  the right bus!  I understand why they call it “catching the bus”  better now,  it drove right past me and I had to chase it a block!

TIME PASSES

I guesses it’s my fault…  I didn’t tell the driver of the crossover bus where I wanted to go. The bus i was just on Was the RIGHT one. But on it’s return trip… It had already past my drop off point.

So here I am, back at the terminal. I’ve definitively feel like I learned a important life lesson today.  In a little bit my feet will do their job and I’ll be on my way. Five miles? I rested all day.

No sweat…

Sleep, where art thou?!

Okay, you’re done right, that was it? No hard feelings, it’s just that right before bed isn’t really best time for me. Sure, its great you got that time I messed up and didn’t get my eagle scout award, the time I lost tne girl I loved , and  oh, look!  You even have the word “Pudding” mixed up with old scifi book titles!  Seriously, the things  you remember at six in the morning. Whats that, you could use a change in scenery to feel better? hmmmm…… Think realisticlly….
Beautiful landscapes…..

Thats better…. Damn. I wish I had someone to talk to tonight…..

Do You Ever Feel Sad For No Reason At All? (I Did Last Night)

Last night, I was down in the dumps, and the weird part was, I couldn’t figure out why. I just felt mopey and sad.

To cheer myself up, I did four things…

First, I asked one of my best friends for a hug. Then I read a good book, watched a a movie that had Will Smith in it, and stayed up late sitting in my chair drinking  . But even after all my efforts, I was still feeling sad. I just wish I could put my finger on why!

I have felt a Little bit lonely at sometimes but its not really a big deal, I normally attribute that to being stuck inside on rainy days. Haha

Does this ever happen to you?

A Bus and a Red Bow-tie

Man’s best friend?

Bow ties?! Yes, I say bow ties!

Recently I made my first atempt to pull of wearing a bowtie.  Having never even worn one before i was a little anxious not to be awkward about my latest addition to my attire.

I was on a trip to DC. Being from Indiana that means a VERY long drive. So early on in the trip I decided I would meet the people around me to make the trip less tiresome.

Feeling a more then a bit more then nervous, I started with the young lady sitting behind me.

“Hi!” I said.  ”My name is Murphy.”

“Hello, Murphy, my name is Emily.  By the way, I really like your bow tie!”  She replied.

i instantly know i’d made the right choice.

I am now ,just a couple weeks later on, in some of the most interesting  friendships with the people on that bus.

Especially with Emily, who broke the ice and helped me appreciate the wonders of standing out.

Here are a couple reasons to wear a bow tie:
 1. Bow ties scream confidence and individuality. They attract attention! even if people don’t remember your name, they’ll remember your neckwear.
 2. You’ll join famous bow tie wearers like Winston Churchill, James Bond, Fred Astaire, Steve Jobs, and many others.

Should you decide the try this classic neckwear, pair it with simple shirts and pants—the bow tie will take care of the loudness, even with a simple pattern. Be ready for compliments…from both sexes.
